Coronavirus: Advice and protective measures

WE ARE CLOSELY MONITORING THE SITUATION
Coronavirus
Coronavirus
The Coronavirus (COVID-19) has had a significant impact on our day-to-day activities and that’s no different at Odisee University College. To monitor the situation to the maximum extent possible and prevent further spread of the virus, our university college has taken a number of internal and external measures. All this information will be mentioned on this page, where we will also publish updates, if applicable.
Students & Staff
Both students and staff have alternative platforms at their disposal with information on the situation, respectively the student portal and staff portal.

Exams
All physical exams are suspended up to the Easter holidays. So called ‘take home’ exams are still possible, if students don’t have to come to the campus to do them.
- All Flemish university colleges decided yesterday to switch to "contact low teaching" from the 18th of May onwards. That means that digital teaching remains the standard, but that for some activities - difficult to replace by digital teaching, like internship or very specific courses - contact low teaching will be organised.
- Do you have any specific course related questions? Please contact your lecturer.
Campuses
All our campuses (and also restaurants and libraries) are closed for students.
All events from Odisee are cancelled up to and inlcuding the Easter holidays
All internships that take place fysically are suspended. You can still do your internship working from home. We make an exception for the Nursing and Midwifery training. These internships can still take place fysically.
Odisee University College has thus far taken the following measures:
- Since the end of February, a taskforce has been gathering on the daily to evaluate and monitor the situation (members include board of directors, safety consultants and the communications department). Odisee also remains in close contact with its partners of the KU Leuven Association. Where applicable, we touch base and inform all relevant government instances.
- Students and staff can follow-up on the situation through our internal platforms: the student portal and the staff portal.
- Our International Office monitors our students abroad and takes measures, depending on the situation. All field trips are postponed until after spring break (Easter break).
- All additional questions can be sent to the following email address: coronavirus@odisee.be
- Thanks to our facility services department, we have clearly communicated the important hygiene measures all over campus by means of posters, screens, websites and e-mail.
Measures are constantly being re-evaluated, modified and/or expanded.
All measures taken by Odisee University College are in line with the advice given out by the authorities.
