Sound of sprouts: the music competition for students in Brussels!
Sound of Sprouts is a music competition for Brussels students. All styles are welcome: from pop to rock and from hip-hop to reggae.
Only condition for participation: at least one of your band members is currently studying at VUB, EhB or a Brussels campus of Odisee, LUCA or KU Leuven.
Via vi.be, the organisation selects 6 artists who can perform in two semi-finals. A professional jury will then select 4 artists for the final during the Brussel Brost festival.
What can you win in the final?
- A spot on the line-up of Brussel Brost festival.
- Recording time in a professional studio
- A chance to play at a Stoemp! Brussels Café Concert

The Bourse theatre in Brussels is a multidisciplinary arts centre. It hosts theatre performances, films, concerts, exhibitions, debates and lectures. De Vaartkapoen | VK concerts (website Dutch/French only) focuses on the following music genres: garage rock, punk, reggae, dub, ragga, hip hop, electronica, metal and experimental music. In all these genres they want to offer upcoming international and local talent a first medium-sized stage in Belgium. |
Cirque Royal | This former circus (website Dutch/French only) is probably one of the cosiest halls in Brussels. Botanique regularly organises concerts here, but there are also dance spectacles and shows from time to time which are enjoyed by young and old alike. |
