Blended Intensive Programme

A Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) is a short programme in which you, as a student, collaborate with students and lecturers from various international institutions, both online and in person. The online component is combined with an on-site meeting. The in-person component lasts a minimum of 5 days and a maximum of 30 days.

The course load for students is at least 3 credits (ECTS) for the in-person and online components combined.

Which grant are you eligible for?

All students participating in a BIP receive an Erasmus+ grant if they meet all administrative requirements and are not residents of the host country.

The BIP grant consists of a daily allowance based on the duration of the in-person exchange: 

5 to 14 days 15 to 30 days

You will receive 79 euros per day

(+ a one-time top-up of 100 euros for students receiving a Flemish study grant, students eligible for a grant, students with a VAPH certificate, and students in a work programme) 

You will receive 56 euros per day

(plus a one-time top-up of 150 euros for students receiving a Flemish study grant, students eligible for a grant but not yet awarded one, students with a VAPH certificate, and students in a work programme)
In addition, you’ll receive a fixed travel allowance. The amount is determined by the distance and your mode of travel ( see table).

The procedure for participating in a Blended Intensive Programme

    Selection

    Nominations and selection for a BIP are handled through the degree programme.

    Sign up for Mobility Online

    Have you been selected to participate in a BIP? If so, please register in Mobility Online using the link provided by your departmental coordinator. Make sure to complete all the required information.

    Learning Agreement for Studies

    Together with your departmental coordinator, complete the Learning Agreement in Mobility Online. Sign it digitally, then have it signed by your departmental coordinator and the contact person at the host institution abroad.

    Grant Agreement

    Has your exchange been approved and your Learning Agreement signed by all three parties? If so, you will receive your grant agreement from the International Relations Office. Sign the document and upload it to Mobility Online. 

    Please note that your grant cannot be paid until a signed Grant Agreement has been uploaded.

    Documents Upon Return

    After completing the BIP, upload the following documents to Mobility Online: 

    • Transcript of Records
    • Certificate of Stay
    • Erasmus+ Survey (Erasmus Participant Report)
    • If applicable, upload proof of your round-trip green travel.
