Cycling makes you happy. It's good for your mind because you produce endorphins and you feel better because of more serotonin. Cycling is also good for your condition and for the environment. Below you will find lots of information and useful tips, even if your bike is in trouble.
Fast on your way! Rent a bike!
In Ghent we work together with De Fietsambassade to rent student bikes. You can rent a bike at an affordable student price. For more info and to book, go to the website of De Fietsambassade.
Park your bike in the right place. Use our bike parking!
Coming to campus by bike? Then park your bike in one of the bike parking zones. You will find these zones scattered throughout campus. Respect campus safety and always place your bike in a bike parking zone. If not, your bike may be secured or taken away.
Breakdown on the road? All about bike repair!
De Fietsambassade not only rents bikes but also repairs them.
You don't have to make an appointment for a repair. Just go to a Fietspunt in your neighborhood and have your bike repaired by experienced bike repairers. As a Ghent student you get a 10% discount (on working hours) if you show your student card.
Have your bike repaired on campus?
De Fietsambassade Ghent visits every week with a mobile bike repair station for students. Check via this link repair calendar. Every two Wednesdays you can find them in the Student Lounge in Block B.
The other weeks they come by at Stuvo LUCA (Alexian Square 1).

Repair your bike yourself?
There are 2 bike repair kiosks on campus. There you can do repairs on your bike yourself. The pillars are sturdy and have a pump and a lot of basic tools. You will find a repair column at building F and a repair column with a bicycle pump at building P.
At STUVO (A004) you can buy a bike repair kit. For €5 you have a handy first aid kit on hand!
Is your bike too badly damaged? Then have it repaired at a bike repair shop nearby or at De Fietsambassade.
