Bicycle facilities Sint-Niklaas
Our campus in Sint-Niklaas is easily accessible by bicycle, whether you leave from home or park your bike at the train station. With convenient bike routes and plenty of parking spaces, bicycles are often the ideal way to commute.
Read below for all the information on how to rent, buy and where to park your bike on our campus. 👇
Rent a bicycle through STUVO
Do you wish to rent a bicycle at cheap prices? Then you can go to our Student Facilities service for that. You can choose your own rental period:
- The rental price is €30 per semester
- For a year you pay €50
The deposit for the bike , on the other hand, costs €100.
👉 But, how exactly do you rent a bike?
- Would you like to reserve a bike for academic year 2025-2026? Then feel free to send an email to our Student Facilities Department.
- After September two, we will be happy to let you know exactly which bike is available and ask you to make payment and sign the rental agreement fill out.
- Mail the completed (and signed) rental agreement and proof of payment again to our student services department.
- We will agree together when you can come pick up the key (note: the key will only be given to you starting September 15).
Share bikes and steps
Share bikes
You can rent a (electric) bike in the bike point De Versnelling, located in the Oosterlaan 2 in Sint-Niklaas. You can choose the rental period yourself:
- Half a day costs 6 euros
- A full day costs 9 euro
- Two days cost 15 euro
- One week costs 25 euros
- And a month costs 35 euros

Share Steps
At city of Sint-Niklaas, you can rent an electric share scooter via the mobile app Hoppy. Through the app, you can find a scooter near you; the cost is 95 cents per ride for activation, plus 18 cents per minute.
A weekly pass, on the other hand, costs 14.85 euros and a monthly pass 29.98 euros.

Bicycle parking
(Electric) bicycle parking
Our campus has a large underground bicycle parking area with room for 250 bicycles. The entrance is located next to the main entrance to the campus on Hospital Street. The bike parking area has electrical outlets - so you can charge your electric bike, for example - and repair equipment, should a minor repair be necessary.
Is the underground bicycle parking full? Since recently, you can also park your (electric) bicycle on the left side of the parking lot in front of our campus, in Hospitaalstraat.
Parking mopeds, motorcycles and delivery bikes
We also have a parking lot in the front right of the campus in Hospitaalstraat. This parking area is specifically for mopeds, motorcycles and cargo bikes. Mopeds and motorcycles belong on the left side of the parking lot. Cargo bikes are on the right side of the parking area.
Repair your bike (yourself)
Technical problem with your bike? You can repair your bike in our underground parking lot. Hang your bike at eye level on the repair pole and use the basic tools provided to get good access to everything.

Can't do it yourself? Then the bike point De Versnelling is there for you. The bike point is open every weekday from 7 am to 7 pm.
They mainly help you with minor repairs, such as fixing a tire, repairing a light or replacing a chain. For larger repairs, they are happy to refer you to a bike shop.
If you are unable to repair it yourself, you can go to the bicycle repair point De Versnelling at the station. Opening hours: all weekdays from 7.00 to 19.00. The repair service is a service to help stranded bikers so they can get home by bike safely. These are mainly minor repairs, such as mending a puncture, repairing a light or chain... For major repairs, employees at De Fietspunt will refer you to the traditional bicycle repair shop
