Students give Odibuddy a 4.4 out of 5!

29/11/2022

Meanwhile, the buddy operation "Odibuddy" is already running at full speed. For the second year in a row, we notice how important students, and especially first-year students, find it to be well and easily supported (at the start of their college career)! This was revealed by a survey of students and Odibuddy's.

Striking this year: 17% of the current buddies were themselves supported by an Odibuddy last year!

In this post, we take you through some of the highlights of the project.

Some highlights at a glance

  • Odibuddy counts today some 115 buddies, with 102 students relying on such a buddy.
  • The larger numbers of Odibuddy's can be found on the campuses Brussels, Sint-Niklaas and Aalst and in thecluster Healthcare (26%). Followed by the Business Administration cluster (23%).

  • Students on the Brussels, Sint-Niklaas and Ghent campuses, in turn, use an Odibuddy the most. Mainly students from the Business Administration cluster (35%), followed by the healthcare cluster with 21%.

  • On average, our Odibuddy's 1h per week have contact with their student.

  • 17% of the current Odibuddy's have experienced firsthand last year how important it is to have a point of contact within the college to whom you can fire all your questions.

There is no doubt that our Odibuddy's have a lot of experience in this area.

  • Some 78% refer to an Odibuddy for practical and training-related questions

  • 49% want to actively educate themselvesthrough training courses so that they can even better assist and support others, even in difficult times.
